Designed for use with split pistons, the seals are precision
molded rubber elements with rubberized fabric reinforcements like the Type DP,
but with the addition of full-width anti-extrusion bearing rings on both ends,
allowing the piston head and cylinder to Larger machining clearance between
Bore for higher working pressure. Polyacetal bearing rings also support the
piston crown under side load conditions and prevent metal-to-metal contact. The
seals are designed with sufficient radial cross-sectional interference to
provide a low pressure seal when fully assembled. The supporting rubberized
fabric has the function of retaining the sealing medium, reducing friction and
wear. Type DPW/L has proven effective in a variety of applications and is a
popular alternative to existing housing designs.
